SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Tragedy struck in the Goulds neighborhood of Southwest Miami-Dade after, officials said, a 2-year-old boy was shot and killed in the courtyard of an apartment complex, Friday evening.
Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue responded to the complex, located in the area of Southwest 215th Street and 114th Court, Friday, just after 6:15 p.m.
“When these officers arrived, they located a 2-year-old male with a gunshot wound,” said Miami-Dade Police Sgt. Carlos Rosario.
Officials said the toddler was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The toddler was identified as Carnelle Williams-Thomas, Saturday.
Tonight, a family was robbed of the chance to ever hold their baby again because of someone’s blatant disregard for human life. Any child falling victim to gun violence is a tragedy. But a toddler? When does it stop? Let’s keep this grieving family in our prayers.

MDPD announced a $23,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
If you have information, please come forward so that Little Carnelle can have justice. The reward should not be the motivation, but $23K for info leading to the arrest. https://t.co/ViKnMisDWA
