HOMESTEAD, FLA. (WSVN) - Officials have located a 3-year-old who was abducted by his mother, who does not have custody of the child.

Homestead Police were searching for 3-year-old Xzavius Alexander Edwards III after he was reportedly taken from his aunt’s house by his 31-year-old mother, Clanetha Davis.

Just before 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Homestead Police found Edwards III and his mother at Naranja Park, located at 14150 S.W. 264th St.

Edward III was removed from his mother’s custody by the Department of Children and Families for child abuse. The child’s aunt had been granted temporary custody.

According to police, Davis allegedly stopped by the house, picked up the child without permission before later being found by authorities.

Officials said both the child and mother were found safe.

Davis was taken into custody and now faces kidnapping charges.
