NORTH MIAMI, FLA. (WSVN) - A North Miami woman said a package delivered to her home, Thursday, was stolen, and it’s not the first time.

The woman said deliveries are left at the front door of her home, on the 1200 Block of Northeast 13th Avenue, and before she can retrieve them, someone comes and swipes them from her porch.

The victim, who didn’t want to be identified, said a package was stolen over Memorial Day weekend, then again Thursday. She has video surveillance footage of the thefts, but she’s not sure if it’s the same person each time.

“This time, the person delivered, and somebody was waiting, and they took the package again,” she said.

She said, after the first theft, she posted a sign informing delivery drivers of the crimes, telling them to take the packages to an authorized location if no one answers the door. The delivery diver didn’t follow the instructions.

“Obviously, it is happening mid-morning in broad daylight, early mid-morning,” she said. “It’s not safe, and I don’t feel comfortable.”

Now, the victim is worried that the thefts could be the start of something worse.

“Statistics say people start stealing, and they might go up and become killers,” she said.

The victim said the items stolen weren’t particularly valuable or expensive, but she’s being robbed of her sense of security.

“General stuff for my foot,” she said. “This time batteries and water bottles I ordered. Items can be replaced, but I don’t have money to throw away, and they were ours. Why would they take them?”

She said she hopes the public can help identify the thieves.

“Channel 7 has so many viewers, amazing viewers that help and give tips,” she said. “I hope everyone can see and recognize this person and give the tip that can catch them.”

If you have any information on these thefts, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
