NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A teen involved in leading police on a chase is facing a judge, Tuesday.

According to Miami-Dade Police, Keenan Brown, 18, was in a stolen car with two other teens, last week, when the trio escaped from police who were trying to pull them over.

Brown jumped out of the moving car and ran away.

According to investigators, the teens were riding in a stolen Mercedes-Benz sedan when they were spotted by police officers in the area of Northwest 95th Street and 22nd Avenue. Law enforcers began to follow the vehicle without giving chase as they waited for an aviation unit. At around Northwest 143rd Street, police turned on their lights and sirens, and the chase got underway.

The passenger then allegedly drew a firearm, causing the officer to open fire.

Brown was then shot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
