DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Surveillance captured a pair of thieves ripping the phones from a display in a Davie Sprint Store.

Several cell phone stores across South Florida have been targeted in just a matter of days. Crooks attempted to break into a Sprint store in Davie Thursday morning, but were not able to get away with anything since everything was secured.

In a separate case, on Dec. 8, police said crooks entered another Davie Sprint store along Carriage Drive and Sterling Road, posing as customers before yanking the phones off the security cord on the display. Davie Police have since released surveillance footage that shows the two men they’re looking for.

The subjects stole two phones, valued at $1,600 in total.

“Two gentlemen walked in, and then they split separate ways,” said employee, Carlos Russell. “One went over to the iPhone 7s, the other went over to the HTC Bolts. The gentleman over there heard him pull the phone, he reacted the same time and started pulling the HTC. He managed to get it out, but after I chased him down, I took a swing, he dropped it, and then we were able to recover that one. Unfortunately, the two iPhone 7s, gone.”

Customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured.

The owner of the store said three of his other stores in Margate, Hollywood and Royal Palm Beach have also been hit in the past four weeks. It is unknown if the robberies are related.

If you have any information on these robberies, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
