WESTON, FLA. (WSVN) - - Did you feel it?
In regard to the rumbling that people in Weston felt just earlier. There was NO explosion in #Weston. There are reports this was felt in several counties. We do not have definitive information on what caused it at this time.

People across South Florida are reporting feelings of shaking and rattling. People have reported feeling it in areas of Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Police in Coral Springs said they received two calls in separate areas of the city from people reporting what they believed was an earthquake. Plantation Fire Rescue also received a call.
No damage has been reported. No explosions have been reported either.
The U.S. Geological Survey said they have gotten multiple reports of people feeling shaking, but they have checked and rechecked their seismometers and have no reports of seismic activity.
“At this point, the USGS does not know the source of the reported shaking,” geophysicist Jana Pursley said. “We do not see any recorded earthquakes in the area. We do not think this is an earthquake because the seismometers would very likely show us an earthquake, especially since it was felt over such a broad region.”
Instead, Pursley suggests the reports are more consistent with a sonic boom, which occurs when an aircraft breaks the sound barrier.
“They can shake windows,” she said. “They can jolt the walls. You can feel it from the ground, too, yes.”
The Hopkins family was at home in Weston, with Bob Hopkins working virtually and his son, Tanner Hopkins, completing his Math homework.
“The house shook about twice, and the kids, who were on online school, came running out and said ‘What was that?’ ‘I have no idea. It’s probably a truck,’ so we all came down and went outside, and there was no truck,” Bob said. “Thankfully, other people felt it too, so I knew I wasn’t crazy.”
“I was doing Math work, and then, all of the sudden, it was just like a shake, like my chair shook,” Tanner said. “It wasn’t that hard. It was just a light, little shake.”
James Haddad felt the shaking in Coral Springs.
“Started rocking and getting worse and worse,” he said. “I started getting a suspicion that it could have been a tremor, and suddenly, we started hearing a rumbling.”
Homestead Air Reserve Base said they were conducting training drills on Thursday, but not on Friday. 7News reached out to the base for an update, but we have not received a response.
The official cause of the shaking and rumbling is not yet known.
