South Florida mayors are joining together to announce they will be partnering with the Rockefeller Foundation.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado and Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine made an announcement with the Rockefeller Foundation, Wednesday.

The Greater Miami area will be joining the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities Network, a project aimed at helping cities face social, economic and physical challenges.

“We’re grateful to the Rockefeller Foundation because resilience is about more than just facing environmental challenges,” Gimenez said. “It’s about facing all challenges head on.”

The projects will target aging infrastructure, public transportation, sea level rise and more.
