NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - An innocent bystander was shot after a violent argument led to a shooting in Northeast Miami-Dade, Monday night.

Two men were fighting outside the Aventura Food Mart, off of 191st Street and West Dixie Highway, when one of the men pulled a gun and began firing, shooting one 58-year-old bystander in the leg. “The guy that made the shots, he was screaming that one of them was disrespectful with his girl or whatever, and that’s how everything started,” said Sergio de Luis.

De Luis said he was just at the store to get some food, when the argument broke out.

“I just came here, you know, like a regular day, to get something to eat,” said de Luis, “and as soon as I walked in a guy comes in and starts arguing with another guy, and out of the blue I just heard the first shot, and I just laid on the floor.”

The shooter fled the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

“I stood up and called 911, and that’s when I came outside to try to get the tags of the truck,” said de Luis, “but I couldn’t get no tags at all, and I called 911 because the guy was really badly hurt.”

Joseph Trumble said he was driving by when he saw about nine patrol cars in the parking lot.

“I was a little scared,” said Trumble.

Police are still searching for the shooter on Tuesday. “It’s sad, but I never seen anything like this around here,” de Luis said.

Residents of the area said the subject is probably not from the area. “This is an excellent community,” said resident Solange Medina. “There’s a lot of religious groups, religious people. Everyone gets along and loves each other over here. I’m sure the person who did it is not from this area.”

Police are searching for a newer-model white Dodge Durango.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes someone in the surveillance footage to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
