COOPER CITY, FLA. (WSVN) - It’s adoption day for a dachshund beginning a new life after she was left to die.

The little dog has come a long way. She was found in May after being dumped like trash along a busy Opa-locka street with a fractured skull.

After seeing a call for help someone posted on Facebook, the South Florida Dauschund Rescue group jumped into action. Then, she was rushed to the hospital and given the name Miracle.

“That’s why she got her name,” said Pam Weiner of Dauschund Rescue, “because I knew it would be a miracle if she could live through it.”

Now, Miracle is thriving and happy, as she celebrates her recovery with her new owner, Karen Greer.

However, as Miracle celebrates, another abused dog is still fighting for his life. Angel was saved by “Just Jacks Rescue,” a rescue group for Jack Russell Terriers. The abuse he has suffered led to third degree burns on his back.

Angel had emergency surgery at Crossroads Animal Hospital in Kendall, but he is still on the mend and should be available for adoption in about a month.

Hopefully, he’ll have a happy ending just like Miracle. “It truly is a miracle that she is here and that she has another chance,” said Greer.
