MIAMI (WSVN) - A day after rapper Rick Ross was reportedly taken to a Miami-area hospital, there are conflicting reports about his condition.

TMZ is reporting that rescue crews rushed the South Florida rapper to the hospital early Thursday morning after someone in his house called 911.

According to the report, Ross has been hooked up to a machine that is “taking over the function of his heart and lungs,” basically a form of life support.

Davie Police officers reportedly responded to a Davie home where Ross lives around 3:30 a.m. Dispatch reports provided by police which names the rapper by his legal name, William Roberts, said he was breathing heavily and was unresponsive.

The report went on to state the patient was combative with medical crews, which prompted police to be called to the scene.

However, in a statement, Davie Police Sgt. Mark Leone indicated the department could not confirm whether or not the patient was Ross. It reads in part, “Davie Police officers did not write a police report due to this not being a law enforcement matter. The Davie Police Department does not have any information on who the patient was, where they were transported, or even if they were transported.”

At first it appeared Ross had symptoms of pneumonia, but it now appears he may have had a heart attack. TMZ said Ross is in the cardiac unit, hooked up to the machine.

However, Ross’ friend and fellow rapper Fat Trel posted on Instagram that Ross “is in da hospital but he is not on life support … he good.”

Ross appeared to be in good health during a public appearance at a nightclub in Miami Beach on Saturday, but he has a history of seizures and was hospitalized in October 2011 because of them.

Ross’ former girlfriend and mother of his child, William Roberts III, said to “pray for him” in an interview with People magazine.
