DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) – The principal and a teacher at Atlantic Community High School were reportedly reprimanded after a pep rally stunt injured the performer and put students at risk.

The stuntman, who was performing a fire-breathing demonstration, was badly burned and half-a-dozen students had to be treated for smoke inhalation on March 17.

Palm Beach County Schools said the performance violated policy, which forbids pyrotechnics inside buildings.

Officials at the school, however, said they did not know fire would be part of the performance.
