POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Some Pompano Beach residents awoke to find their cars broken into, early Thursday morning.

According to officers, as many as 30 cars were vandalized at an apartment complex, located at 1150 E. Sample Road.

There were plenty of upset and scared residents looking on at the shards of glass and their damaged vehicles. “It’s really scary that something like that happened,” said victim, Diana Cruz. “I’m really not comfortable to live here.”

Andrew Cowan, another resident, said this is the second time in six months that his car has been broken into. “This time they did it, they sort of threw my center console,” he said, “and that’s it. They didn’t find anything.”

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has begun an investigation, but residents said there are no surveillance cameras at the complex to help.

Meanwhile, the clean-up process begins as residents hope the burglar can be caught. “It’s South Florida, baby,” said Cowan. “What are you gonna do?”

If you have any information on these break-ins, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
