SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police responded to reports of shots fired near a football field at Tamiami Park, in Southwest Miami-Dade, Tuesday night.
Miami-Dade Police responded to the park, located at 11201 S.W. 24th St., at around 8:30 p.m.
Witnesses told 7News they heard what sounded like gunfire while a game was being played, prompting players and audience members to clear the field.
A sister of one of the football players said the players range in age from elementary school to middle school age.
Florida International University Police tweeted out a warning to avoid the park as police searched for evidence with flashlights. FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus is located adjacent to Tamiami Park.

Investigators broke down the scene shortly before 9:30 p.m. At this point, officers cannot confirm whether actual gunfire was discharged.
No injuries were reported, and there are no reports of any shooters in custody
