MIAMI (WSVN) - All downtown Miami buildings involved in a bomb threat have been reopened and deemed safe.

Police and fire rescue arrived to the scene at the Rohde building near Northwest Sixth Street and Second Avenue, around 3:15 p.m., Tuesday.

According to officials, the bomb threat was deemed credible and was made against a state employee who works at the Rohde building.

The City of Miami Police Department building was evacuated at some point, as was the nearby Miami-Dade County Children’s Courthouse, but occupants were allowed back in by 5 p.m. to retrieve their personal belongings.

After an extensive search, however, the all clear wouldn’t be given until 8:15 p.m.

Earlier, officials took the proper precautions to make sure everybody would be safe.

“The Rohdes building is a state building, so it is a government building,” said Miami Police Officer Kenia Fallat. “The adjacent building is a Miami-Dade family services courthouse, so we were forced to also, as protocol and to err on the side of caution, evacuate that building as well.”

The building houses an office for the Department of Children and Families, as well as several other state agencies.

A United States Postal Office in the area was also temporarily evacuated.

The bomb squad, as well as the City of Miami Police, Miami-Dade Police, Miami-Dade School’s Police and Miami Beach Police were all on scene investigating.

Investigators also responded to leads possibly related to another bomb threat, along Brickell Avenue and Southeast Eighth Street.
