PEMBROKE PINES, FLA. (WSVN) - Police have detained several men after establishing a perimeter in Pembroke Pines after the men bailed out following a carjacking.

Miramar Police and Pembroke Pines Police set the perimeter in the area of Southwest 22nd Street and 99th Avenue to search for the men who, police said, were responsible for an armed carjacking, just before noon on Thursday. They were all detained about 12:15 p.m.

Police took several men into custody, possibly as many as six. They do not believe anyone else is on the loose.

Sea castle Elementary in the area was placed on lockdown during the search. That lockdown has since been lifted, and the routine class schedule has resumed at the school.
