SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A man was found dead in a Southwest Miami-Dade home as police investigated the scene.
The body was discovered outside of an apartment complex near Southwest 216th Street and 114th Street, at around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday.
Police discovered the body in the entryway of a home before they covered it with a tarp.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the man was pronounced dead on the scene. They were later seen hauling out their equipment from the home.
Neighbors said they heard a barrage of bullets in the area.
The shots could be heard on one neighbor’s security cameras.
The victim’s family told 7News that he was 27 years old and leaves behind three children.
“I’m just now finding out,” one man said. “I knew he was a good, loyal friend, though.”
Police marked the inside and outside of the building with evidence markers and taped off the surrounding area.
Later on in the day, crime scene investigators were still at the residence, and family members could be seen gathered outside.
The shooting remains under investigation.
