PEMBROKE PINES, FLA. (WSVN) - Police are investigating after, they said, burglars stole several trailers in Pembroke Pines under the cover of stormy weather caused by Hurricane Matthew.

According to Hollywood Police, the trailers were taken from the Uncle Bob’s Self Storage near University Drive and Sheridan Street, Thursday night, as the storm blew through the area.

Sharon McQueen, the owner of one of the stolen trailers, is upset with the facility because, she said, the business left the gates open without telling anyone. “Instead of informing us that they opened the gates so we could move our stuff if we needed to, they just opened the gates and it became a free for all for the thieves to come and steal everything we owned,” she said.

If you have any information on this burglary, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
