SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida grandmother suffered fatal injuries after she was confronted in front of her Kendall home, Saturday, and the suspected murderer remains at large.

According to Miami-Dade Police, a call came in shortly after 8 p.m., regarding 65-year-old Vicki Feeley, being injured outside of her home, located near Southwest 112 Terrace and Southwest 128 Court. After the investigation, it was revealed, Feeley was approached by an unknown subject with the intention of robbing her. A physical altercation occurred and Feeley was fatally injured.

“You feel for their family,” said Feeley’s neighbor, Anelle Martinez. “You feel for everybody who knew her, you know? Anybody who knew her lost a friend. Somebody who can’t be replaced.”

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews transported Feeley to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police have not said how she was hurt.

The person in question fled the scene.

Neighbors were shocked that the deadly crime happened so nearby.

“It’s crazy to think it would happen so close to where we live because it seems like such a good neighborhood,” Martinez said.

“This has been a great neighborhood. I’ve lived here since I was 10 years old, 11 years old. I used to walk here, home from school, and now my kids live here, so really sad and worrisome,” Tatiana Lee said.

Police continue to search for the alleged murderer.

If you have any information on this alleged homicide, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
