WEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman before pointing a gun at her in a Miami Beach hotel room.

7News cameras captured 26-year-old Shane Bayne as he was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in West Miami-Dade, Saturday morning.

“He’s a very dangerous man,” said Miami Beach Police Officer Ernesto Rodriguez.

Officials said the victim told them she met the suspect on the beach, where they exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet at a nearby hotel to have sex.

According to court documents, the victim changed her mind after the pair arrived at the hotel, and the man then became violent.

“The man did not want to use a condom. The victim refused, and that’s when the subject became irate,” said Rodriguez. “He attacked the victim. He choked her and then proceeded to sexually batter her.”

Officials said Bayne also threatened the woman with a gun, and the two of them fought before he ran from her room. The victim was then able to seek help.

Surveillance video released by police on Friday captured Bayne walking past an ATM in a hallway of the hotel.

Investigators believe the suspect may be the same man who robbed two other victims at gunpoint in their hotel rooms in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

“This man may be wanted in connection to armed robberies, not only by the Doral Police Department, but also by the Broward Sheriff’s Office,” said Rodriguez, “so, again, a very dangerous man.”

Bayne is facing several charges, including sexual battery with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment, and more charges could follow. He is being held without bond.
