MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLA. (WSVN) - Two demonstrators who took a stand for whale at a baggage carousel Miami International Airport’s only in body paint have been arrested.
Both women held up signs that called for the release of Lolita, an orca who resides at Miami Seaquarium. They wore only black-and-white body paint and chains as they protested on a baggage carousel, Thursday afternoon.
They were quickly escorted away in handcuffs.
Lolita has been at the oceanarium since 1970 and has been alone since her tankmate died in 1980.
Seaquarium officials have said previously that she would not be capable of surviving in the wild.
