HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - Fire Rescue saved a child swept into the water by the choppy waves caused by Hurricane Matthew.

Despite warnings from various officials to remain indoors, residents ventured outdoors when the weather temporarily improved.

This proved to be almost  deadly when a young boy went out into the ocean with his parents and was swept away by waves.

Fire Rescue and police searched for the boy and were able to find him. They boy is reported to be OK. However, officials continue to stress the message that everyone should remain out of the waters and indoors, as weather conditions are forecasted to deteriorate further.
