WEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Miami-Dade officials said, Wednesday, that the 8-year-old girl who contracted measles was treated at Pediatrics Associates in the Miller Square shopping center near Southwest 137th Avenue and 56th Street.

On Tuesday, officials announced that the girl was not contagious while she was at school.

The case of measles was confirmed by state health officials on June 16, after the girl began exhibiting symptoms of the respiratory disease on June 6.

Symptoms of measles include fever, coughing, runny nose, red eyes, sore throat and a rash.

Officials said that if you or your child exhibits symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
