MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) - Three teenagers were taken to the hospital after, officials said, they were gunned down in broad daylight, in Miami Gardens, Saturday afternoon.

Officials said one man was injured in a drive-by shooting, about one mile away, Saturday evening.

According to Miami Gardens Police, the first shooting took place in the area of West Bunche Park Driven near Northwest 160th Street. Authorities said the call came in at around 4:20 p.m.

Investigators said three juveniles has been shot in the residential area.

“I saw people laying in the street. I saw an ambulance come and picking people up,” said area resident Eric Montoya.

Paramedics transported one of those victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert. A second victim was taken to Jackson Health North and the third to Aventura Hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening, but the patient at JMH remains in critical condition.

7News cameras captured crime scene investigators searching for clues at the scene. A parked vehicle had two bullet holes in it.

Area residents were left shaken by the daytime shooting. “God be with them. That’s all I can really say,” said Montoya. “Who knows what they’re doing, you know? It’s a tough world out here.”

Despite the acts of gun violence that have taken place in Miami Gardens in recent months, area resident said Alba Jofre said her neighborhood is still a good place to live. “My kids, they come and go. They go to school,” she said. “We’re normal people. We go to work, my husband goes to work. [Residents] go to college. They go to school.”

Nevertheless, Jofre said she is disturbed by Saturday’s shooting. “It is scary, just to think about it,” she said. ‘You’re pulling over to your parking spot, and having to see all this commotion. It’s hard, it’s sad.”

Less than two hours after responding to the scene, officers got a call about the second shooting, near Northwest 27th Court and 173rd Terrace. Officials said one man had been shot by someone from inside a vehicle.

Officials said that victim took a private ride to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.

Detectives believe both shootings were gang-related but do not know whether they are related. No arrests have been made.
