MIAMI (WSVN) - A City of Miami Police officer was rushed to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Interstate 95 in Miami.
According to police, the police officer was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a silver Toyota Tundra, Monday, at around noon.
Witnesses said the officer went flying off his motorcycle and ended up in the middle of the roadway, along the northbound Key Biscayne entrance ramp, on I-95.
The officer was transported in a fire rescue vehicle with a police escort to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
According to the City of Miami Police Department, the officer only suffered minor injuries and is scheduled to be discharged from the hospital Monday evening.
The northbound Key Biscayne/Rickenbacker entrance ramp and surrounding roadways were temporally blocked to expedite the arrival of the officer to the hospital.
