NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A woman has been arrested after an argument led to a shooting during a child’s birthday party, Monday.

Audrey Finnie was celebrating her 11-year-old daughter’s birthday party, Monday, when she said, she got into a fight with another mother, and a family member started to shoot into the air at an apartment complex located at 1225 N.W. 103rd Lane.

“Me and another girl got into an altercation, we had a fight,” said Finnie. “The guy from the third floor came out. He shot once. I seen the other guy pass his friend the gun, and his friend went to shooting.”

Investigators said 23-year-old Jessica Jean was shot in the head and 27-year-old Calvin Wright was shot in the chest and arm. Both are expected to be OK.

Finnie told 7News what happened in an interview, however, she was arrested several hours later on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief charges.

According to an arrest report, Finnie drunkenly attacked another woman with a knife, before she slashed the tires, stomped the windshield and back window of the other woman’s car.

A rock was found shoved into the tailpipe of the car. Bullet holes could also be seen in another car on the lot.

This shooting happened in the very same apartment complex where 6-year-old King Carter lost his life due to gun violence in February.

Monday’s shooting was the final straw for Carter’s parents who are now moving out of the complex. “I gotta go,” said Santonio Carter, the 6-year-old’s father as he packed his belongings. “I’ve gotta get out of here, ASAP.”

Although the complex holds the painful memory of their son’s death, leaving is still not easy for the parents since the complex holds happy memories of King as well.

Police are still searching for the man who is said to behind the shooting. If you have any information on this shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
