FLORIDA STRAITS, Fla. (WSVN) – A missing boater was found in the Florida Straits after his boat sank due to a mechanical problem, officials said.
The boat, according to officials, began to take on water Friday, and the boat was found on Sunday.
A passing boat with several people on board rescued the boater out of the water and took him to shore.
Officials said it is important to have a float plan, which includes notifying someone where you’re going and when you will return.
