FORT MYERS, Fla. (WSVN) — Police have detained a man they were searching for and believe is involved in a recently issued Amber Alert, according to the Miami Herald.
Police found the man, 28-year-old Jorge Guerrero, in a neighboring county to Fort Myers, reported the Miami Herald, Saturday morning.
Officials believed the missing 9-year-old girl, Diana Alvarez, may have been in the company of Guerrero, but she was not with Guerrero.
The Amber Alert was released Thursday for Alvarez, who is Hispanic, stands 4 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 95 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
Alvares was last seen Sunday, in the 3500 Block of Unique Circle, in Fort Myers, wearing a short-sleeve shirt and shorts.
