MIAMI (WSVN) - The Miami Heat gave back to the children of their community just in time for Christmas.

For the 11th year in a row, Miami Heat season ticket holder Larry Share, along with Heat legends Alonzo Mourning and Glen Rice, donated hundreds of toys to the children in each of the three HEAT Academy schools. The three local inner city schools are Paul Laurence Dunbar K-8 Center in Overtown, Jesse J. McCrary, Jr. Elementary in Little Haiti and Riverside Elementary in Little Havana.

Each student got a toy of their choice in time for Christmas.

“Each kid gets to pick their own toys,” said Share, who donated some of the toys. “I have basketballs, footballs, all kinds of games and things like that for various age groups for boys and girls.”

The kids also enjoyed pizza donated by Papa Johns, as well as surprise visit from Burnie the Heat mascot, Uptown Dale and the Extreme Team.
