MIAMI (WSVN) -

A South Florida therapist was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting two women under his care at a treatment facility in Miami, according to authorities.

Manuel Enrique Garcia, 33, was charged with engaging in sexual misconduct with a patient while employed at a facility along Northeast 49th Street and First Avenue that treats women with mental health and substance use disorders. He faces additional charges including grand theft and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities said Garcia was a therapist at the facility when the alleged assaults occurred between February and July of 2025.

According to the arrest report, one woman told police that Garcia assaulted her during a one-on-one therapy session after she had been admitted during a depressive episode.

She said Garcia pulled her bottoms down and raped her, then told her not to report what happened, warning that he could lose his job and she would be discharged and forced back into homelessness, the report states.

Another woman described two separate incidents involving Garcia. She said he initially lured her into his office under the guise of offering candy and access to her storage, then forced her to perform oral sex, according to the report.

Investigators say she feared that refusing him would negatively impact her court case or delay her discharge and reunification with her child. In the second incident, she said Garcia recorded her performing oral sex on him while she was making a phone call, and she froze in fear, the report states.

Police said multiple other residents at the facility provided statements that corroborated the victims’ accounts.

Garcia was arrested Tuesday at the facility and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
