HOMESTEAD, FLA. (WSVN) - Firefighters were able to get the upper hand on several brushfires that were burning along the Miami-Dade and Broward County line.
On Monday, Everglades National Park said it reopened Shark Valley area after the wildfires closed it over the weekend.
As of 3:30 p.m., the Chipmunk Fire is 60% contained and has burned over 17,000 acres. The Vulture Fire has burned 347 acres and the Movie Dome Fire has burned over 6,200 acres.
Both Vulture and Movie Dome fires have been fully contained as of Monday afternoon, according to officials.
The blazes started at Everglades National Park over the weekend after being ignited by lightning strikes.
No injuries were reported.
