MIAMI (WSVN) - A multi-agency investigation is underway after a man was targeted by a trio of armed men who allegedly shot up the victim’s SUV in Miami, injuring him.

City of Miami Police responded to the scene along Northwest 23rd Court and 46th Street, just after midnight on Friday.

7News cameras captured a damaged fence which, police said, was the result of three subjects crashing and bailing out of a white SUV.

A tow truck later arrived at the scene to remove the vehicle.

Another scene nearby involved a similar SUV with bullet holes on both sides, believed to be the victim’s vehicle.

7News spoke with a man who said he is a friend and coworker of the victim.

He said his friend had pulled up to his house after work, and that’s when he was approached by the three subjects who attempted to rob him.

“They put his hand in his pocket, and they hit him with a gun in the head,” the man said, “and from there, he told me that he bend down and put the car in reverse. He left and then he put it back, and they started shooting like five or six, seven times at the car.”

He said he called 911 while the victim drove back to work. He was later taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

7News caught up with the victim who has since been released from the hospital.

“Good. I feel good, thank God,” he said. “Only two bullets grazed me and nothing else happened.”

He showed cameras the bruising and open wound on his stomach as he recounted the moments that led up to the shooting.

“I was arriving to my apartment, and then when I got there I noticed strange movements,” he continued. “I stayed in the car, and at that moment, they arrived and tried breaking in. All I could do at that moment is follow my instinct, which is to flee, and I was able to back up my car and escape.”

The victim, despite being attacked and shot, is not holding any grudges against the gunmen.

“Maybe these are kids that need information and education,” he said. “If I were to see them, I would forgive them.”

The matter is now being investigated by both the City of Hialeah and the City of Miami police departments.
