NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A Lamborghini driver was arrested after he led police on a high speed chase when an aviation unit noticed his erratic driving on the road in the Hammocks area.
On Monday morning, live video footage showed a damaged matte gray Lamborghini SUV driving at a high speed on the Florida Turnpike.
Police reports stated an aviation unit started following the car after the driver was “driving in a reckless behavior.” The driver, later identified as 24-year-old Adrian Jerome Brabham Jr. was involved in several incidents on State Road 836 near 114th Avenue. At one point, he struck a Homeland Security vehicle as he fled police.
7SkyForce captured the car partially losing control after it hit another vehicle on the highway. Officials said Brabham Jr. hit two vehicles at two seperate locations while he fled police.
Once the driver approached the northbound Okeechobee Road exit on the turnpike, he slowed down. The chase ended after the Brabham Jr. stopped the SUV he was driving and exited the car.
An aviation unit circled the area where he stopped and guided the police officers on the road to where the criminal stopped.
Brabham Jr. walked toward the shoulder of the road as he dropped two items from his grasp; he appeared to be speaking to someone on the phone. He eventually sat on the side of the road as he awaited authorities.
Police approached Brabham Jr. with their guns drawn and arrested him without incident.
After he was handcuffed, a fire rescue arrived at the scene to provide medical aid to the man as he did get into crashes during the chase.
Investigations revealed the driver Brabham Jr. had a suspended license since May 5, 2023.
He now faces a series of charges, including fleeing and eluding a police officer, reckless driving causing damage to property or person, leaving the scene of multiple accidents involving property damage, and driving with a suspended license.
Brabham Jr. bonded out of jail on Tuesday.
