NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - There was a heavy police presence in a Northwest Miami-Dade neighborhood after two people were found dead.

Police taped off a section of the road near Northwest 25th Avenue and 92nd Street, Thursday morning.

According to police, two men were found shot dead inside a home by a friend at around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday. When the friend showed up to their house, the front door was unlocked.

A man who lives next door said he heard the gunshots earlier in the week.

“You never know what’s going to happen right next door,” said Maurice Rios.

Rios told 7News that the two men who were shot were new to the neighborhood and worked together. One of them texted him recently.

“They’re in the business to purchase the palace from the factory,” Rios said.

Others in the neighborhood were sad to see something like this happen.

“I come home, and I don’t know what’s going on, people come rushing into the house. I guess the family members must have got a call,” said Melvin Sabree, who lives nearby.

The area surrounding the home was blocked off for hours as detectives investigated. The medical examiner’s office also responded to the scene.

At this point, it remains unclear what led up to this.

No arrests have been made.
