(WSVN) - Out of an abundance of caution, closures across South Florida have been announced as Hurricane Nicole continues its track to Florida’s east coast.
Miami Dade County Public Schools
All Miami-Dade County schools, as well as region and district offices, will be closed Wednesday. All schools and facilities will reopen Thursday.
Broward County Public Schools
All Broward County schools and district offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, including before- and after-school activities are canceled, as well as field trips and night classes.
Broward College
All Broward College classes and business operations are canceled for Wednesday and Thursday.
Palm Beach County Public Schools
District-operated schools and offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday. Extracurricular activities and evening classes are canceled.
University of Miami
UM will transition to online learning on Wednesday for all students at all campuses, except for some medical students who will remain on their regular clinical rotation schedules. UM also canceled all campus events planned for Wednesday.
Florida Atlantic University
All FAU campuses will suspend operations and all classes, including online classes, Wednesday and Thursday.
Nova Southeastern University
NSU’s Palm Beach campus will close Tuesday from 5 p.m. through Thursday. All other Florida campuses and locations will close at the end of business Tuesday and remain closed until Friday.
Barry University
Barry University’s Broward, Palm Beach and Orlando locations will move to remote learning starting Wednesday through Thursday. The Melbourne location and the Law Campus in Orlando will close Wednesday and Thursday. All other locations, including the Miami Shores main campus, will operate under normal conditions.
Miami-Dade Courts
The Miami-Dade Courts and Court Facilities will be closed on Wednesday. Remote hearings scheduled for Nov. 9 may still take place at the discretion of the presiding judge. Port Miami & Port Everglades
Port Condition ZULU will go into effect at 8 p.m. Tuesday for both Port Miami and Port Everglades. At that time, all waterside and landside operations including terminal, cruise and inbound/outbound operations will cease.
Boca Raton
All city facilities, beaches and parks will be closed Wednesday.
Pompano Beach
All Pompano Beach facilities will be closed Wednesday and reopen Thursday.
Oakland Park
Regular city operations, including parks programming and building inspections, will be suspended, and city facilities and parks will be closed on Wednesday.
Santa’s Enchanted Forest
Opening night postponed to Nov. 10 from Nov. 9 due to subtropical storm watch.
Zoo Miami
Zoo Miami to close at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Management will meet Thursday morning to evaluate conditions and determine if it is safe to reopen.
