MIAMI (WSVN) - American Airlines is seeking to hire more than 700 new employees in Miami, which includes about 600 reservations positions in the first half of 2023 and more than 100 positions for customer service roles at the airport.
As of 2022, the airline has hired more than 2,000 team members in Miami, which included about 400 members in reservations. This resulted in more local jobs prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As Miami’s hometown airline, we are proud to continue to build on our more than 30-year commitment to our community by creating more jobs in South Florida,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, American Airlines Vice President of Miami Hub Operations. “American plays a vital role in the success of Miami-Dade’s travel and tourism industry, and we look forward to even more growth in 2023 and beyond.”
This year, American Airlines has launched more flights from Miami, which included a seasonal route to Semana and a daily service to Tel Aviv. They also resumed daily service to five destinations in Cuba.
The goal for American Airlines is to fill the open home-based reservations over the next few weeks.
Candidates who wish to apply must be located within a 75-mile radius from Miami International Airport. They will also undergo a paid training program, which starts next year.
The airline is also hiring for customer service roles at Miami International Airport with both part-time and full-time positions.
On their start date, new hires will have access to travel privileges, health benefits and more.
Potential candidates must be 18 years old or older and have a high school diploma, GED or international equivalent.
