MIAMI (WSVN) - Police are searching for the individual responsible for a hit-and-run in Miami that landed two people in a hospital.
Miami Police said they responded to the area of Northwest 7th Avenue and 36th Street in reference to a man and a woman being struck by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle.
Both victims were transported to Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center to be treated for their injuries.
According to officials, one of them suffered several skull fractures, a brain bleed, a collapsed lung, a broken leg, and other injuries.
The motorcycle could be seen lying amongst debris on the scene, in front of shaken onlookers taking in the incident.
Police said Isaac Desmond Florence rammed his Jeep Compass into 2 people on a motorcycle and fled on foot before they arrived.
Nearby, on Northwest 5th Avenue, Miami Police Department officers investigated an adjacent police report.
According to the Miami Police Department, Florence was later found nearby while riding in another vehicle, which officers pulled over before arresting him.
They said he admitted to fleeing the scene after blowing a light on his SUV and hitting the two victims on the motorcycle.
Florence is being charged with fleeing the scene of an accident with great bodily injury and driving without a license.
