NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A woman who has taken more than 40 foster children into her Northwest Miami-Dade home had some help repairing it, Saturday.

Volunteers and local businesses joined in with the Miami-Dade Police Department to paint, landscape and make repairs to 70-year-old Rosaline Jones’s home as part of the department’s third Home Beautification Project.

Jones has taken in more than 40 foster children since 1995 and adopted three children in 2013.

Miami-Dade PD Major Ricky Carter said it’s all about giving back to the community they serve.

“She is so happy,” Carter said. “She is so touched. She feels blessed, but actually, the blessing is ours because we get to come out here and help because it’s really important for the Miami-Dade Police Department to improve the public perception of law enforcement, and we do these types of projects all the time.”
