DORAL, FLA. (WSVN) - Miami-Dade County unveiled modern upgrades to its 42-year-old Traffic Management Center in Doral, Friday.

A new video wall made up of 14 screens was added to the center, allowing engineers to see road conditions from 80 traffic cameras installed at major intersections throughout the county. They can then react in real-time and make adjustments to help alleviate congestion.

“Technology is critical to our vision of increasing access to services like transportation for all Miamians,” Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Giménez said. “That’s why we have even more technology initiatives up our sleeves.”

The project cost $1.3 million and took about five months to complete.
