MIAMI (WSVN) - Police are investigating after, they said, two men broke into a Miami Burger King and stole a safe.
The burglary happened overnight at the Burger King, located at Northwest 20th Street and 13th Avenue.
According to officials, two men in a van broke in through the drive-through window of the restaurant and took a safe with an undisclosed amount of money.
“We do know that they were armed with a crowbar because that’s what they used to break-in,” said Miami Police Lt. Freddie Cruz. “The safe was attached under the front counter. As you can see in the video, they were struggling for several minutes, but they were able to take it and leave with all the money.”
Investigators are now looking into a possible connection with a Burger King burglary that happened several weeks ago.
“We gotta stop these guys,” said Cruz. “All fast food corporations should be on notice.”
If you have any information on this burglary, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
