MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Police are investigating the death of DJ Erick Morillo.

Miami Beach Police responded to a 911 call at his home along La Gorce Drive near 57th Street just before 10:45 a.m., Tuesday.

Detectives are currently on scene investigating, but police confirmed Morillo is dead.

It remains unclear how the 49-year-old died, but police said there were no signs of foul play.

He was taken into custody in early August after he was accused of raping a woman at his home in December 2019.

The popular Miami DJ was best known for his early ’90s dance hit “I Like to Move It,” which was used in the Dreamworks animated film “Madagascar.”

7News cameras captured several detectives going in and out of the home with several evidence bags.

Police said the cause of death will be determined by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.
