MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida man was held at gunpoint by carjackers at his Miami Beach home.

The trio got away with Schlackman’s Volkswagen Golf after they snuck up on him in the alley behind his Euclid Avenue apartment near 13th Street, Sunday. “I was annoyed and pissed off and nervous,” he said.

Attorney Steven Schlackman now has to rely on his motorcycle for his main mode of transportation. “A guy came up from behind me, put a gun to my head, another jumps into the backseat, another jumps into the driver’s seat,” Schlackman said. “They took off down there, made a hard left, skidded out around the corner.”

Schlackman said he felt a gun at the back of his head after spending a day out with his dad for Father’s Day, at around 10:30 p.m. He said it happened as he reached into the passenger seat of his running car for his cellphone. “The whole thing took maybe eight seconds, so quick,” he said.

Schlackman was not injured in the process, but he also lost his laptop and cellphone, as they were inside his silver, 4-door, 2015 Volkswagen Golf. The vehicle has a Florida tag of DPM-L77.

He has already filed an insurance claim. “They knew exactly what they were doing,” Schlackman said. “They had bandanas on.”

Now they a have a man’s car, but Schlackman is happy that’s all they have. “I’m alive,” he said.

If you have any information on this carjacking, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
