MIAMI (AP) — A public memorial is being planned in South Florida for former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno.
Family members announced in a news release Friday that the memorial would be held Dec. 11 at the Kendall Campus of Miami Dade College.
Reno died early Monday at age 78 from complications of Parkinson’s disease, which she had battled for more two decades.
She served as former President Bill Clinton’s attorney general for eight years and ran unsuccessfully for Florida governor in 2002. The Miami native died at her home on the edge of the Everglades surrounded by family and friends.
