MARGATE, FLA. (WSVN) - A Margate police officer had to be hospitalized after he was hurt during a foot chase with suspects.
The officer, who has not been identified, was transported to Northwest Medical Center with a leg injury, Wednesday afternoon in unknown condition.

The officer was injured in the area of State Road 7 and West Atlantic Boulevard, in Margate, sometime around 3 p.m., Wednesday.
According to police, a stolen SUV driven by a young man with several other passengers inside crashed into a school bus. No children were on board the bus.
At least two suspects jumped out of the SUV, which started the police chase on foot.
7 Skyforce captured images of one suspect in custody and being checked out by paramedics and the aftermath of the collision was captured by 7 Skyforce HD. The second may have gotten away. However, witnesses said, he may have been apprehended.
A witness explained how the scenario unfolded. “When I heard the hit, I thought it was me, so I start trembling,” said witness Jennifer Orihuela. “And then my friend said, ‘Stop!’ and then I went here in the sidewalk, I check my car, it wasn’t me, and then I figured it out that those two boys left the SUV and then they run.”
