SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A man died from his injuries after, officials said, a house caught fire in Southwest Miami-Dade, Thursday afternoon.

7Skyforce HD hovered above the scene of the blaze at 26233 S.W. 127th Place. According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the blaze started in the rear of the residence, just before 4 p.m.

Crews responding to the scene found the fire burning through the roof. They were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

The victim was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center as a trauma alert. 7Skyforce captured paramedics administering CPR shortly after landing at the hospital, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after.

Two dogs were found inside the home while it was still burning. One of them died at the scene.

Officials said at least two rooms inside the home sustained severe damage.

Thursday evening, firefighters continued to monitor hot spots at the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
