NEAR FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) — Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man in connection to a shooting that claimed the life of one man in unincorporated Central Broward, near Fort Lauderdale, Monday afternoon.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene along the 2700 block of Northwest 14th Street. They then set up a perimeter in this residential neighborhood.

7Skyforce HD hovered above the football field at nearby Dillard High School as paramedics airlifted the victim to Broward Health Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 20-year-old Vincent Woodard of Lauderhill.

Deputies later arrested a suspect who was identified as 20-year-old Peter Belony III, also of Lauderhill.

Detectives continue to investigate.
