TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WSVN) - A man was arrested, Wednesday,  in connection with the shooting death of a Florida State University law professor.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, 34-year-old Sigfredo Garcia is responsible for shooting and killing professor Dan Markel, who in July of 2014, was found in his vehicle with a gun wound to his head.

Garcia, who has a long criminal history that includes armed robbery and burglary, was arrested in Broward County.

He has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of cocaine.

Garcia will be extradited to Tallahassee after being denied bond in court Thursday morning.
