SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a 19-year-old Florida man in the death of his 81-year-old neighbor.

Records show Davion Shakeem Stewart is charged with first-degree murder, burglary and auto theft following the death of Jackie Allen Hammer.

The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/2bbED9X ) reports Hammer’s body was found Aug. 3, slumped on a couch in a bedroom. Prosecutors say he’d been killed two days earlier. His throat was slashed and he’d been beaten.

Altamonte Springs police investigators say Hammer and Stewart lived in the same apartment complex.

The Sentinel reports Stewart and four co-defendants were arrested in Fort Lauderdale after officers spotted them in Hammer’s car. Records show officer’s found Hammer’s credit cards and ID inside the car.

Stewart is being held without bond. Records didn’t list a lawyer.
