FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - Local police and the U.S. Marshals teamed up, Wednesday, to make 22 arrests in South Florida.
The city-wide sweep, “Operation Bad Karma,” was planned to take crime off the streets in the South Middle River neighborhood. According to residents, they have complained of drug activity for some time.
Police officers targeted Northeast Fourth Avenue and Northwest Ninth Avenue, as well as North Sunrise Boulevard to Wilton Manors. “For over a year, we have been answering complaints of open drug sales and violence in the streets,” said Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderley, “and we feel that these individuals played a pivotal role in those crimes that were being committed in the past year.”
According to police, the suspects were mostly dealing cocaine.
