PLANTATION, FLA. (WSVN) - Owners of a Plantation home were startled when a lighting bolt struck their roof.
The bolt hit the home near Northwest 16th Street and 97th Avenue, Thursday morning. The strike damaged part of the roof and burned a wall inside.
The owners said they were at home and saw the whole thing happen.
“I saw a flash. I thought it came from the fan, but as you can see, the fan is working, so it didn’t come from the fan,” said homeowner Kay Love. “I don’t know what I saw, but I just saw a flash, and there was a huge boom.”
Lightning also struck a medical office building, near Southwest Second Street and 84th Avenue.
No injuries were reported at either location.
