Last week, Jungle Island announced they would be accepting name suggestions for their newest member of the family — a cute, baby capuchin monkey. Today, the winning name was announced.

Contest winner Kristin Shipley submitted the cute name Caampoochie for the baby monkey, who was born in May.

As a reward, Shipley will get to meet Caampoochie, get a free banana pie and will receive a pair of 2016 Jungle Passes, which includes unlimited park admission through the end of this year, free private beach access and a one-day pass on the Rainforest Riptide.

Jungle Island conducted a social media contest to see who could give the almost one pound, white-faced capuchin monkey the best name.

Capuchin monkeys are a type of New World monkey that are native to Central and South America. Their diets consist of mostly fruits, leaves, insects and eggs, and the monkeys can live for up to 50 years.

If you want to see Caampoochie yourself, you can book a behind-the-scenes tour. For more information, visit www.jungleisland.com.
